Biography:
Margarida Jacome received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Technical University of Lisbon, IST., and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Jacome is an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems (IEEE TCAD). She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Design Automation Technical Committee (DACT) of the IEEE Computer Society. She has served on the Technical Program Committee of several conferences, including the Design Automation Conference (DAC), The International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD), the Design Automation and Test in Europe (DATE), the International Symposium on Hardware/Software Codesign (CODES), the International Symposium on System Synthesis (ISSS), and the International Conference on Computer Design (ICCD). Dr. Jacome is a recipient of a National Science Foundation CAREER Award. She is a recipient of the IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference Best Paper Award for 1992, and a recipient of the IEEE/CAS William J. McCalla ICCAD Best Paper Award for 2000. Her paper "Exploring Performance Tradeoffs for Clustered VLIW ASIPs" has been selected to be included in the prestigious book "The Best of ICCAD" Years of Excellence in Computer Aided Design".
Research Interests:
Dr. Jacome specializes in embedded computing, hardware/software codesign and high-level synthesis.
