Biography:
Michael Orshansky received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, where he was a member of the Semiconductor Device Group, in 2001. His undergraduate degree is also from UC Berkeley where he studied electrical engineering and computer science and philosophy. Prior to joining the UT faculty in 2003, he has been a Visiting Research Scientist at the Gigascale Silicon Research Center and a Lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Berkeley.
Dr. Orshansky has won a NSF CAREER Award and the Best Paper Award at the 2005 Design Automation Conference.
Research Interests:
- Statistical CAD algorithms for design for manufacturability and yield improvement
- Robust circuit design in the presence of process variability
- Low-power circuit design
- Modeling and characterization of semiconductor devices
