The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin will host the tenth annual Edison Lecture Series from May 22-23, 2014, this year focusing on mobile computing. The series uses mobile computing as a platform to engage and excite youth from around central Texas about computing and engineering. During the past nine years, the series has reached nearly 26,000 students in the Austin area.

Drs. Christine Julien and Sanjay Shakkottai, associate professors in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), will serve as Distinguished Lecturers. Interactive lectures featuring local high school and University robotics, solar car, and electrical and computer engineering groups wil showcase their projects for middle and high school students, providing the opportunity to touch and interact with robots, robotics and other state-of-the-art engineering projects.

The Edison Lecture Series — a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education Coalition program — was created to provide Central Texas students with more information about engineering education, and to inform them of the opportunities available when studying engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Edison Lecture Series is made possible by generous support from:
