The Edison Lecture Series was created in 2005 by the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. The Lecture's mission is to get middle and high school students excited about electrical and computer engineering as a career choice, and to introduce middle and high school students to the potential applications and impacts of electrical engineering on the world. The Edison Lecture Series has reached over 26,000 students in Austin and Central Texas over the past nine years. The topic for the 2016 Edison Lecture Series is "Computing for Green."
