Tenure Track Faculty Positions

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin has six tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level with a start date of Fall 2008.

We invite applications for these tenure-track (Assistant Professor) faculty positions in electrical and computer engineering:

  • Computer Architecture - particular emphasis on compiler/microarchitecture interaction
  • Electromagnetics and Acoustics - RF electronics, antennas, EM materials; electro-acoustics, MEMS transducers, acoustic signal processing and communications
  • Embedded Systems - design automation, operating systems, processors, and VLSI design for communications, instrumentation, networked, robotics and signal/image processing applications
  • Microelectronics - organic materials for opto-electronic and photovoltaic applications, crystal growth with MOCVD/MBE and III-V devices, Nanoelectronics and MEMS
  • Mixed-Signal Systems/Circuit Design - areas of interest include but are not limited to interface circuits, digitally assisted analog, low energy systems, and 3D integration for applications such as biomedical, communications, DSP, optical, and sensor systems
  • Software - parallel and distributed systems, operating systems, programming languages, and security

Applicants for tenure-track positions should have received, or expect to receive a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline prior to September 2008. Successful candidates are expected to supervise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a sponsored research program, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and the profession.

Letters of reference may also be submitted by email, although hard copies will be required later if The University decides to make a formal employment offer. Priority deadline for applications is December 31, 2007. Earlier submission is strongly encouraged.
