Austin consistently ranks high on lists of best places to live, work, and play. Austin ranks highly on list of best cities to live, best vacation destinations, healthiest cities, most unwired, environmentally aware, pet friendly, hi tech, and top places for businesses. There is always something to do in Austin and its reputation for being the Live
Music Capital of the World is not misplaced. Local bands play on
Sixth Street nightly. Two large music festivals call Austin home:
South-by-Southwest in the Spring and Austin City Limits in the Fall.
Live theater at venues like Zachary Scott Theater and the
UT Performing Arts Center runs the gamet from experimental pieces to
Broadway musicals. Austin is said to have the nation's highest number of
restaurants per capita, with everything from Vietnamese to Jamaican food.
The list of things to do is long and diversified, so one can easily say that
Austin does everything and does it all well.
