Biomedical Engineering
The current research of this faculty is focused in the following areas: bioinstrumentation, admittance plethysmography, cardiac dynamics, thermography, hyperthermia, modeling of electromagnetic energy-tissue interactions, thermal alteration of tissues, radio frequency and laser surgery, acquisition of physiological data by noninvasive means, engineering in the cardiovascular system, effects of laser radiation on biological material, laser applications in medicine, coherence imaging of biological materials, optical tomography, visual system instrumentation, computer vision, acquisition and processing of neurological signals, neuroprostheses, applications of finite element modeling in medicine, acoustics and ultrasound.
Please note that the University also offers a degree in the major of Biomedical Engineering. This separate program is not the same as the this Academic Track within ECE.
