Analyzing Electromagnetic Phenomena

Tuesday, April 7, 2009 - 7:00pm

Dr. Ali E. Yilmaz is investigating fast, accurate and robust numerical methods for calculating and characterizing electromagnetic fields in complex environments. He uses supercomputers to develop hybrid electromagnetic and circuit simulators that are accelerated by fast and parallel physics-based algorithms. The simulators that result from his efforts can efficiently analyze transient electromagnetic phenomena involving antennas and high-speed, analog, mixed-signal, and microwave circuits encountered in radar, communication, and computer systems.
