Prof. Robert Heath of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (UT ECE) and director of the Wireless and Networking Communications Group (WNCG) and his co-author UT ECE alumnus Kien T. Truong have been named as the recipients of the 2014 Journal of Communications and Networks (JCN)  Best Paper Award. The award recognizes the paper “Effects of Channel Aging in Massive MIMO Systems”, which  appeared in the JCN Special Issue of August 2013. JCN is published by the Korea Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS) and is technically cosponsored by the IEEE Communications Society.

The Award will be presented during the Award Luncheon of the IEEE ICC 2014 Conference in June in Sydney, Australia.

Prof. Robert Heath holds the Culen Trust for Higher Education Professorship in Engineering and is the director of the Wireless Networking and Communications Group.

Kien T. Truong is an alumnus of UT ECE and WNCG. He received his PhD in 2012.
