You are invited to attend a one hour interactive SunSmart Security Briefing by Lance Spitzner, Sun Microsystems Senior Security Architect.
Mr. Spitzner will be presenting on the tools and methods of today's most common attackers, and how to best secure against those threats

Speaker Biography

Lance Spitzner is a Senior Security Architect for Sun Microsystems. His passion is researching honeypots to study attackers and sharing what he learns. He is considered by many to be one of the leaders in his field. He is the author of the book "Honeypots: Tracking Hackers", co-author of "Know Your Enemy", and author of numerous security whitepapers. He is founder of the Honeynet Project, an all volunteer security research organization. He is the moderator of the honeypot mailing list. He is an instructor at SANS, developing and teaching courseware on honeypots. He has spoken and worked with numerous organizations, including FIRST, the Pentagon, NSA, the FBI Academy, JTF-CNO, CIA, the President's Advisory Board, West Point, the Army War College, the Department of Justice, and Navy War College. Before information security, Lance served seven years in the Army, four as an officer in the Army's Rapid Deployment Force. Following the military, he completed graduate school and obtained his M.B.A.
