Claudio da Silva
Dr. Silva has over ten years of experience in the design and analysis of algorithms and systems for advanced wireless communication devices, and is currently responsible for the development of technologies that could impact future generations of Samsung modems. Prior to joining Samsung, he was an Assistant Professor in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech.
Dr. da Silva received the B. S. and M. S. from the State University of Campinas, Brazil, in 1999 and 2001, respectively, and the Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego in 2005, all in electrical engineering. He received the best student paper award at the 2003 IEEE Conference on Ultra-Wide Band Systems and Technologies and was a California Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2) graduate student fellow during the 2001-2002 academic year. During the summer of 2004, he was a graduate intern with Intel Corporate Technology Group.
Dr. da Silva is a Senior Member of the IEEE and has served on the technical program committee of numerous IEEE conferences. He is currently an Associate Editor for Modulation and Signal Design for the IEEE Transactions on Communications.
