Fine Arts/Humanities Electives

Each student must complete three semester hours of coursework in archaeology, architecture, art (excluding design and studio art), classics (including classical civilization, Greek, Latin), fine arts, humanities, music (excluding instruments and ensembles), philosophy (excluding courses in logic), or theatre and dance.

Note: Courses with the intent of developing or improving the competence of a student to perform a physical act (i.e., playing a musical instrument or participating in a band) do NOT satisfy this requirement.

Many courses on the pre-approved list are offered every semester. Please refer to the Course Schedule for availability and prerequisite requirements. The ECE Dept does not permit coursework taken on a pass/fail or credit/no credit basis to be used toward the Fine Arts/Humanities Elective requirement.

The following courses have been pre-approved to satisfy the Fine Arts/Humanities Elective requirement. Additional courses may be approved by the ECE Undergraduate Faculty Advisor; however, to be counted toward the requirement, the course must be approved BEFORE the student enrolls in it. Please speak to an advisor in ENS 135 if you have any questions about this requirement.
