2012-2014 Catalog

Basic Sequence

The courses that make up the Basic Sequence within the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering serve many purposes. First and foremost, these courses provide students the knowledge they need to be successful in the engineering courses they will take in the Major Sequence. Second, the Basic Sequence courses are designed to help students determine whether Electrical and Computer Engineering is right for them before they complete too many courses in the curriculum. Finally, the Basic Sequence courses will help students decide the areas of electrical and computer engineering in which they would like to focus during their final semesters of the BSEE program.

Students must complete the Basic Sequence before taking courses in the Major Sequence. In order to be admitted to Major Sequence, a student must complete all Basic Sequence courses with a GPA of at least 2.33 in those courses.

Courses in double boxes below are basic sequence courses. E 316K and UGS do not count towards your Basic Sequence GPA.
