A Message for Prospective Ph.D. Students:
- Thank you for your interest in my research. Please note that the admissions decisions are made by the admissions committee, and not by individual faculty. I encourage you to apply through the UT ECE Admissions Office.
- If you are at UT, and you think that our interests overlap, feel free to send me an e-mail describing your interests, and what kind of things you think you might like to do for your PhD. My interests tend to be more on the mathematical side, mostly related to Optimization, Learning Theory, and Control. You can get some idea of what I work on by looking at some of the papers listed on my web page.
- If you are already at UT and looking for an advisor, one way to get to know the faculty better is to take one of their graduate classes. I currently teach two classes: EE380K: Introduction to Linear System Theory, and EE381V: Convex Analysis and Optimization.
- For general advice to graduate students, and information on our program, Professor Brian Evans maintains quite a bit of information on his website. See here for more.
