BIOGRAPHY

Runhua Chen obtained his Ph.D. in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin, under the supervision of Prof. Jeffrey G. Andrews and Prof. Robert W. Heath Jr.  His research interests fall into the general area of wireless communication, smart antenna technology, space-time processing and broadband multi-carrier modulation schemes. He received his M.Phil. degree in Electrical Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in August 2002and B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in June 2000.

During the summer of 2004 and 2005 he was with SBC Laboratories Inc. (currently AT&T Labs), Austin, TX, where he investigated MIMO multi-antenna technology for fixed broadband wireless systems (WiMAX/802.16). During the summer of 2006 he was with the DSPS R&D Center, Texas Instruments Incorporated, Dallas, TX, where he studied link adaptation for MIMO systems with near-ML decoding in 3GPP LTE. He is currently with the Communications System Lab, DSPS R&D Center, Texas Instruments Incorporated, Dallas, TX.
