Professor Theodore (Ted) S. Rappaport is the William and Bettye Nowlin Chair at The University of Texas at Austin and is an active teacher, researcher and entrepreneur. For his recent biography click here. For his research interests click here.
Rappaport is the founding director of the Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG), launched in 2002 when he was recruited to UT Austin, and is the faculty advisor for N5XU, the UT Amateur Radio Club.

During the Spring 2011 semester, Prof. Rappaport will teach EE 381K-11 (Wireless Communications), which will meet every Tuesday and Thursday, 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM, in ENS 127. Prof. Rappaport will hold EE 381K-11 class office hours in ENS 433 on Wednesdays, 3:00 - 5:00 PM, and Thursdays 10:30 - 11:30am, when he is in town. General office hours will be held weekly by appointment only; contact Preuss.J.L@mail.utexas.edu to schedule. Prof. Rappaport's research focuses on RF propagation and antennas, wireless communication system design, rural broadband wireless challenges and solutions, and millimeter wave (60 GHz) system-on-a-chip and antenna-on-a-chip. Prof. Rappaport teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in digital and wireless communications, signals, and systems.
