Join us as our ECE PostDoc shares her journey researching the various techniques employed for 2-D materials growth, that are used to build semiconductors, insulators and superconductors, the building blocks for all electronics applications.

In addition to discussing the pros and cons of the different 2-D material synthesis processes and their significance, our speaker will share her insights on pursuing research as a doctorate and a postdoc.

The IEEE Graduate Student Chapter is delighted to host Dr. Martha I. Serna, UT ECE Postdoctoral fellow!

Dr. Serna is a part of Akinwande Nano Research Group and researches the growth of 2-D materials. She received her Ph.D. in Materials Science &    Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2017. Her current research work includes non-conventional 2-D materials growth techniques.

Dr. Serna enjoys mentoring undergraduate and graduate students to equip them for research work.

Dunkin coffee & donuts will be provided.
