Jeff Andrews Wins IEEE Communications Society Technical Achievement Award

Jeff Andrews, professor in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, has been selected as the winner of the 2025 IEEE Communications Society Communication Theory Technical Committee (CTTC) Technical Achievement Award for "contributions to the analysis and design of wireless cellular communication systems.”

The award recognizes members of the Communication Theory Technical Committee (CTTC) of the IEEE Communications Society who have been involved with CTTC, have done outstanding work in communication theory, and have achieved a high degree of visibility in the field.

Jeff Andrews is a professor and holds the Truchard Family Chair in Engineering in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.

He is an IEEE Fellow and Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher. Among others, he has received the 2015 Terman Award, the NSF CAREER Award, the 2021 Gordon Lepley Memorial Teaching Award at UT Austin, the 2021 IEEE ComSoc Joe LoCicero Service Award, the 2019 IEEE Wireless Communications Technical Committee Recognition Award, and the 2019 IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award.
