Prof. J.K. Aggarwal Gives Distinguished Lecture at Notre Dame King-Sun Fu Prize Lecture Series

UT ECE professor J.K. Aggarwal recently gave a distinguished lecture at the University of Notre Dame as part of their King-Sun Fu Prize Winner Lecture Series. The King-Sn Fu Prize is given every other year by the International Association for Pattern Recognition in recognition of outstanding technical contributions to the field of pattern recognition. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame recently hosted a series of lectures by winners of the King-Sun Fu Prize. Dr. Aggarwal was awarded the K.S. Fu Prize in 2004. His lecture was titled Recognition of Facial Expressions for Improving Communication Skills of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

J.K. Aggarwal has served on the faculty of The University of Texas at Austin College of Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering since 1964. He is currently one of the Cullen Professors of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Director of the Computer and Vision Research Center. His research interests include computer vision, image processing and pattern recognition.
