Professor Bill Bard is the 2010 Recipient of the Gordon T. Lepley IV Endowed Memorial Teaching Award

At the Spring 2010 Electrical and Computer Engineering External Advisory Board Banquet, Tony Ambler (Chairman of the Department) presented the prestigious Gordon T. Lepley IV Endowed Memorial Teaching Award to Professor Bill Bard. Bill was a unanimous choice for this award given his dedication and commitment to teaching in the classroom and laboratories.

Over the course of his years associated with ECE, Bill has taught a variety of different classes, but has also created new teaching labs associated with communications and obtained the necessary high performance (i.e. expensive) equipement to support them. He also encouraged the formation of the IEEE Student Chapter in Communications, fostered the start of the UT Honeynet project, created opportunities for senior design undergraduate projects, participated in summer undergraduate project supervision, and can generally be found at any time of the day or night participating in many other research and undergraduate events. Bill is truly an asset to this department.
