José del R. Millán

Texas ECE professor José del R. Millán has been elected as a Fellow to the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering (IAMBE) for his outstanding contributions to the profession of medical and biological engineering. 

Texas ECE hosted an inclusivity roundtable on September 2 to take a look at the demographics of our current student body and brainstorm ways that we can build a more inclusive and welcoming community. The event was part of ECE Welcome Week supported by Texas Instruments.

UT Austin Selected as Home of National AI Institute Focused on Machine Learning

Alex Dimakis, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, will serve as the AI institute’s co-director. In addition to Dr. Dimakis, four other Texas ECE faculty will be involved in the institute: Dr. Al Bovik, Dr. Constantine Caramanis, Dr. Sujay Sanghavi, and Dr. Sanjay Shakkottai.
