Prof. Andrea Alu Elected to Fellow of the Optical Society of America

Prof. Andrea Alu of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin has been elected to  Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA) “for outstanding contributions to the fields of photonic metamaterials, plasmonic phenomena and devices, cloaking and scattering suppression." 

According to OSA, the Optical Society (OSA) is "the leading professional association in optics and photonics, home to accomplished science, engineering, and business leaders from all over the world. Through world-renowned publications, meetings, and membership programs, OSA provides quality information and inspiring interactions that power achievements in the science of light." It was founded in 1916.

OSA Fellows members who have "served with distinction in the advancement of optics," and they are nominated by peers who are also OSA Fellows.
