About UT ECE

UT's ECE department, a top-ranked department, is the largest department in the Cockrell School of Engineering with almost 2000 students, 70 full-time faculty and 20 part-time faculty. Our outstanding faculty bring state-of-the-art research, development, and design experience into the classroom, ensuring that our students and alumni are amongst the best in their fields and that our research advances the scientific community as well as society and business.

Undergraduate Program

UT ECE offers a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with the option of two programs of study: Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Both programs are accredited by ABET and have a common two-year basic sequence for freshman and sophomore level students to focus on the fundamentals of both electrical and computer engineering. Graduate Program

UT ECE offers both MS and PhD degrees in the 11 different academic tracks, but students can also take advantage of the immense variety of resources for interdisciplinary work at The University of Texas at Austin.
