UT ECE Graduate Student Bei Yu Receives Chinese Government Award

UT ECE PhD student Bei Yu has been named a recipeient of a Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad. This is a highly competitive national award given to Chinese students who study abroad not directly sent by Chinese government, which number more than 200,000 in the US alone. Out of these hundreds of thousands of students worldwide, only up to 500 receive this prestigious recognition. 

Bei Yu will be recognized at a ceremony at the Chinese Consulate General in Houston and be presented aith a plaque and a $6,000 monetary prize.

Bei Yu is supervised by Prof. David Pan. Since joining UT in 2010, he has received numerous awards and accolades including a 2013 ICCAD William J. McCalla Best Paper Awars, a 2012 ASPDAC Best Paper Award, and a 2012 IBM PHD Scholarship Award, among others.
