Linran Fan

Linran Fan is an Assistant Professor in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.

He received his B.S. in Physics from Peking University in 2011, and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Yale University in 2017. He worked as a postdoc at the California Institute of Technology in 2018. He joined the Wyant College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona as an assistant professor in August 2018. He joined the faculty of the Chandra Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in August 2023.

His research interests focus on nonlinear interactions between optical photons, superconducting circuits, electron spins, and acoustic waves at the quantum level in a hybrid system of novel integrated devices and materials. Target applications include photonic information processing, communication, and precision measurement enhanced by quantum information science.
