Prof. Vijay Janapa Reddi Receives 2015 SIGPLAN Most Influential PLDI Paper Award

Prof. Vijay Janapa Reddi of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin has been named the 2015 recipient of the Most Influential Programming Language Design and Implementation (PLDI) Paper Award from the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Programming Languages (SIGPLAN). Each year, ACM SIGPLAN selects a "Most Influential" PLDI paper from 10 years previously and presents this award at the PLDI conference. The award recognizes "authors of a paper presented at the PLDI Conference held ten years prior that has proved to be most influential in the intervening decade."

Prof. Janapa Reddi and his co-authors are receiving the award for their paper "Building Customized Program Analysis Tools Using Dynamic Binary Instrumentation” which was presented at PLDI ’05 in June 2005. The paper has received over 2200 citations to date. The award will be presented at the Federated Computing Research Conference in June 2015.
